The afternoon on Sunday was the day of Race 2 of TCR International Series. Mato Homola, Slovak driver of B3 Racing Team Hungary started from P4 in the second row.
Although his start was better than yesterday, he lost one position in the first corner. Very close battles also with teammates across the whole racing field made races very attractive. After a collision, Stefano Comini dropped out and also three Honda cars from one team were in a battle, what concluded also in accidents and drop outs. Mato was then fighting and he moved back to P6, which he lost due his mistake when he got out of the track. In the end, Mato finished the race on P6.
“Yesterday, I felt really sick and right after the Race 1, I had to go to Medical Centre, where I got an IV,” said Mato Homola after the Race 1 on Saturday evening. “In the morning I felt much better and I could start in Race 2. In the beginning, I was hit many times, and it is quite possible that one of the wheels was hit too, as the car did not work on 100%. However, it was still better than on Saturday. We have entered the new championship, in a new car with new tires, so there are still things to be improved and to learn. I’m glad we are taking some points back home.
David Bari, team manager of B3 racing: “Overall I’m happy with the result. The team had only minimal experience with new tires and brakes before the race. But it is important that we have points and we know what to improve to be faster.”
Additional news: Mato Homola and Aku Pellinen got a 30-second penalty for a jump start. In the final results, Pellinen moved to 10th and Mato to 11th position. Mato’s team-mate, Dusan Borkovic, then moved to 3rd position.
