Mato Homola second in the qualification in Germany!

Another racing weekend of TCR International Series continues with its last race in Europe – in Oschersleben, Germany. Mato Homola and his team arrived in Germany a little earlier, as there was testing session planned for Thursday. Testing was dedicated not only to the TCR International Series but also for the TCR Germany and ADAC Formula 4. Mato Homola has shown his speed even during the testing session, where he set the fourth fastest time of the day.
But the real racing weekend has started just today with the Free Practice 1 and 2. Mato was pretty confident about his pace and he confirmed that with his result. „I knew, that the setup of the car was good, we have done big portion of kilometers during the testing session and the Free Practice 1 has shown, that we are really fast.“ Mato was able to set the fastest time of the session, with 0,584 s ahead of Pepe Oriola.
Mato has tried some minor setting updates during the FP2 when it started to rain. His time was enough for the 7th position, but if we count together with FP1, there was no faster driver out on the track. The rain got really strong and we expected wet qualifying session.
The rain has stopped just before the qualifying. Jaro Krajci, Mato’s engineer: „We were extremely lucky, the sun came out just before we went out on the track and dried it out. Mato kept to the agreed strategy and he was able to make great result! he was second in both qualifying sessions. The car worked great, I am extremely happy!“
This result means a lot to the team, as Mato’s teammate, Dusan Borkovic made it to the pole position, so we will see two B3 Racing Team’s SEAT Leon TCR starting from the first row!
